Hosting an Open House
Whether you’re working with a real estate agent to sell your home or property or you’ve decided to take on the task yourself, hosting an open house is a must-do. An open house is the best way to show your house to multiple buyers at one time and build an exciting buzz about your home among house hunters.
Preparing the Home
When preparing your home for an open house, it’s important to clean and organize the home thoroughly. Your potential buyers should walk in to a pleasant smelling, comfortable environment that they can easily imagine themselves living in. Small rooms should have minimal furniture and large rooms should not be filled with overwhelming sofas and televisions. If possible, it is also a good idea to have pets and small children out of the home on the day of your open house.
Attracting Visitors
Advertising your open house properly will ensure quality traffic. When advertising, make sure to spread the word among both house hunters and real estate agents. You can place an ad in the local paper, online classifieds or your church and community newsletters. Posting signs around the neighborhood and in front of your home will attract additional foot traffic.
